Was previously at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. Coordinates and teaches the MA in Linguistics/English Language at the University of Northampton, and the MA in Modern English Studies Postcolonial Literature module and the module on Research Methods.
Her monograph Fleur Adcock was published in 2007, as was The Gorse Blooms Pale: The Southland Stories of Dan Davin (Otago University Press).
She is editor of the Journal of Postcolonial Writing (Routledge) and currently Chair of EACLALS (European Association of Commonwealth Language and Literature Studies).
I am currently working on a study of adaptation in New Zealand and Australian cinema and editing (with Gerri Kimber) some essays on Katherine Mansfield for Palgrave. Another essay collection titled Katherine Mansfield and Literary Modernism is shortly to be published by Continuum. The.volume, Frank Sargeson's Stories, for which I wrote the introduction, will be published by Cape Catley Press (Auckland) in September.
